Melissa Armstrong is a communications specialist who brings more than 5 years of experience to Concepts in media relations, brand management, message development, and social media strategy.

At Concepts, Melissa supports communication efforts on behalf of various projects, including the Employer Assistance and Resource Network for Disability Inclusion (EARN) and the Clear2Connect Coalition. For EARN, Melissa is responsible for creating and implementing social media strategies and specialized campaigns, as well as provide media outreach to increase awareness and promote all of EARN’s resources and tools. Additionally, for the Clear2Connect Coalition, Melissa supports overall engagement and outreach efforts to help raise awareness and add organizations to the coalition that represent the disability, aging and veteran communities.

Prior to Concepts, Melissa worked at REQ, a digital marketing and brand management agency based in Washington, DC. In this role she focused on a variety of different B2B and B2G technology client accounts across the health-tech, higher education, and hospitality sectors. On client accounts, Melissa was responsible for creating and securing media content, proactive pitch support, social media strategizing, assisting with award programs, and consistently presenting a steady stream of creative and strategic ideas on a day-to-day basis.

Previously, Melissa worked on a number of different public relations positions that have strengthened her strategic communications and media relations experience across the board. Melissa is a dedicated professional who is passionate about her work, building relationships and driving results.

Melissa graduated from George Mason University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Legal Studies.
